Police Log: Dog Left In Car, Leaving The Scene, Open Fire Pit

Wednesday, Nov. 7
At 3:06 p.m., police responded to a Fort Salonga Road location for the report of a dog in a closed vehicle. They contacted SPCA, who determined there is no violation of the law due to weather conditions. Officers met with the owner, who was warned and admonished.

At 5:33 p.m., police responded to an Ocean Avenue location for the report of a woman with a fever and possible altered mental status, as she was having a problem communicating. Northport Rescue arrived and interviewed the woman, who was conscious and breathing normally. She was taken to Huntington Hospital via ambulance.

At 1:31 a.m., a 23-year-old Northport man was issued a summons for leaving the scene of an incident on Constitution Square.
At 8:56 p.m., police responded to a Jay Court location for the report of an open fire pit in a driveway. Officers spoke to the homeowner, who agreed to put the fire out.
