Police Log: Drunken Arrestee Kicks Cop Car, Damages Cell Camera

Here are recent incidents reported in the area, according to Northport Police.

Tuesday, March 6

At 10:50 p.m., police received a report from a man that his daughter took his car without his permission on Whispering Fields Drive. The daughter took the vehicle a week ago and hasn’t been seen since, police say. Police made contact with the daughter, who agreed to return home with the vehicle at once. The father said he would return to police headquarters to file an unauthorized use affidavit should the daughter not follow through with returning the vehicle.

At 10 p.m., police responded to a Burr Avenue location for the report of a neighbor’s tree that fell down on a man’s parked 2008 Toyota, damaging the vehicle. Police told him to notify his insurance company. The Northport Village Highway Department was notified of the tree limb in the roadway.
