Police Log: House Partially Collapses, Oven Fire Put Out

Thursday, March 1

At 3:17 p.m. a 23-year-old Northport man was arrested after he was involved in a domestic incident on Woodbine Avenue. Police say he broke numerous items at the location, then grabbed the complainant and threw him into a wall. The complainant says he is suffering from mild shoulder pain in both shoulders, but refused medical attention. The man was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

At 11:14 a.m., police received a report regarding an ex-significant other who is not honoring the terms of a custody agreement. The woman reported to police that her ex failed to be home in time with their child. She believes her ex and child are in Connecticut at this time.

At 2:02 p.m., police received a report that a house under construction partially collapsed on Steers Avenue. Police met with the contractor, who said he was securing the remaining walls of the structure. The building inspector was notified.

Saturday, March 3

At 2:01 a.m., police responded to Artoro Restaurant & Tequila Bar on Main Street for the report of excessive noise. Police arrived and did not hear anything from outside the restaurant. There was music playing over the speakers inside, but nothing excessive. Officers spoke with the bartender about the ongoing noise complaints. She agreed to shut the music off and contact the owners.

Sunday, March 4

At 7:04 p.m., police responded to Lewis Road for the report of an oven fire. Northport Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The home was vented due to a smoke condition.
