Police Log: Woman Calls 911 For Dream, Lies Help Man Avoid Ticket

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Friday, Feb. 23

At 10:05 a.m., police responded to a 5th Avenue location for a 911 call and an additional 911 call where the caller asked if she called 911 for an ambulance. The woman said she had a dream she called police the night before. Police arrived to the location and the caller said she was fine and doesn’t need assistance.

At 2:09 p.m., police responded to a dispute at King Laundry Corp on Fort Salonga Road where two women were arguing over the volume of music. Both parties agreed to lower the music and stay away from each other as they finish their laundry in peace.

Sunday, Feb. 25

At 11:24 p.m., police attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding, but lost sight of it. The vehicle was located off Lisa Drive with no operator. Police found the operator at his residence some time later, but he denied driving the vehicle and implied that the vehicle could’ve been stolen. Police say it was obvious the man was lying, but could not prove that he was driving the car, so they left the scene.

Monday, Feb. 26

At 1:17 p.m., police received a report from someone on Fairwind Court that an unauthorized $1,000 purchase was made on a credit card. The complainant contacted the bank, who removed the purchase from the account.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

At 2:32 p.m., police responded to a Main Street location for the report of a man with a golf club making threats. Police were unable to locate the man.
