Update: Arrest Made in Fort Salonga Road Stabbing

Northport resident arrested after altercation Tuesday.

Update: 3 p.m. Wednesday

Suffolk Police arrested Jose Umanzor, 31, of 714 Fort Salonga Road Tuesday night and charged him with felony second degree assault, intent to cause physical injury with a weapon, after he allegedly stabbed another man during an altercation in his home.

Upon arraignment, Umanzor was also charged with two misdeameanors: Second degree menacing with a weapon and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, not a citizen.

Three men were involved in the fight, two of which were transported to Huntington Hospital. One man was stabbed and his injuries were reportedly non-life threatening.

A mug shot has not been released.

A stabbing occurred at a house at 714 Fort Salonga Road in Northport Tuesday around 7:55 p.m., according to sources.

Two men were reportedly involved in a fight, were arrested, and taken to Huntington Hospital for treatment.

Several Suffolk County Police vehicles were on hand and crime scene tape cordoned off the building, which sits across from CVS plaza.

Suffolk Police and Northport Police have not yet confirmed details. Patch will provide additional information as it becomes available.
