Can You Work Among the Chaos of the Coffee Shop?

It’s where books are written, art is created, poetry is inspired, friendships are made and good conversation is had.

But while some find the creative spark they need to get work done in the bustle of the local coffee shop, others can find the atmosphere distracting. 

Rev. Tim Schenck said he found the perfect balance of the two atCoffee Lab Roasters in Tarrytown while finishing his first book, according to his blog on OakRidger.com.

Schenck explains that working from home can feel one leaving cut off from the outside world and that working in a coffee house gives the “dual stimulation of being alone in a social setting.”

Though a noisy setting can be distracting, the “mix of calm and commotion” found in local coffee houses, like The Black Cow Coffee Co. in Croton-on-Hudson, provide the right ingredients to produce creative content.
