CROTON-ON-HUDSON — The Village Board of Trustees has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday on a special permit application from Ameriland Brook LLC, to add a three-story mixed-use building next to the existing one-story commercial building at 352 South Riverside Ave.

The application for a building with five 2-bedroom apartments next to Samurai restaurant at Riverside and Clinton was reviewed by the Planning Board in August.

"The location, size and character is what is being encouraged in the Gateway Zone," the Planning Board said in a memo to the village trustees, expressing reservations about access and the entrance to the building.

The Village Board of Trustees will hold the hearing at 7 p.m. in the Georgianna Grant Meeting Room of the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building, 1 Van Wyck St.
