Hochul Toasts Campaign Volunteers At Visit To Sing Sing Kill Brewery
The popular Hudson Valley institution doesn't shy away from its political ideals or its support for local farmers.

OSSINING, NY — A VIP visitor to a popular Hudson Valley brewery became a chance to talk about economic policy over brews.
Recently, Governor Kathy Hochul paid a visit to Sing Sing Kill Brewery in downtown Ossining. She took a moment to chat with the brewery owners about their NY Farm Brewery, though the focus of her visit was to express appreciation to many of the volunteers and campaign staff that have been hard at work reaching out to potential voters.
The brewery is a fitting weekly meet-up location for volunteers canvassing voters in Ossining.

"We are proud to contribute to a thriving New York agricultural industry as well as our local economy," the brewery's co-owner, Eric Gearity, said. "SSKB was born out of progressive activism in the anti-fracking movement which was the inspiration for the NY Farm Brewery legislation. We are dedicated to fostering a society that protects our environment, supports small businesses, and respects the dignity of all people."

The brewery purchases all their grain from New York farmers, most right here in the Hudson Valley.
Victoria Gearity, the brewery's Events & Communications Director and former Ossining mayor, spoke about the small company's choice to be openly political in a polarized society.
"Some people think it’s bad business to be so politically outspoken," Gearity said. "We believe all of our actions — from our events, to our ingredients, to our energy sourcing — are an expression of what SSKB is. Though we occasionally get push back from individuals on social media, what matters more is that our customers appreciate we are true to our values. Or, maybe they just like delicious locally brewed beer."
Sing Sing Kill Brewery is located at 75 Spring Street, in Ossining.
