The father-daughter company based in Ossining started with "zippo" - except a wealth of knowledge and a long list of contacts.

OSSINING, NY — Bob Rosenthal sold his business in 2003, so he decided to start a new one.

"I had to figure out what I was going to do, I wasn’t going to look for a job — so I thought I’ll just start another company with my daughter," he told Patch. "We had zippo, nothing. We basically started with zero."

He and Shari Pulver rented two tiny little offices from a friend in Hawthorne and a small storage unit in Elmsford.

Here's the thing, though.

"We knew a lot of people, and we’d been doing this for a long time. We knew the business, the industry, how to get products. One thing led to the next, customers started to come," he said.

In a year they had moved to Executive Boulevard in Ossining. "I had to find more space — we were getting stock shipped to us that we had to ship out and it didn’t work in two tiny offices."

"We had very low overhead — I kept it that way," he said. "We were able to build it very quickly in the first few years."

From apparel to watches, they can provide thousands of ways to promote a business or an organization or an event.

They've able to keep going through the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. And they show no signs of stopping.

"What I keep telling Shari is I’m going to work until I physically can’t any more," Rosenthal said. "I’m bored on the weekends."
