Medical Emergency Caused Driver To Slam Into Half Moon Bay Clubhouse

Around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, a Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department car was flagged down moments after the accident.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — An undisclosed medical emergency caused a car to crash into a building at a development.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, a Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department car was flagged down moments after the motor vehicle accident at the entrance to Half Moon Bay, where a vehicle struck a clubhouse building.

The Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, Croton EMS, an Ossining EMS Paramedic and the Croton Police Department were soon on the scene.

The vehicle was quickly stabilized. Electric and gas to the buildings was shut down, while firefighters stabilized the damaged overhang with Paratech struts and checked the building for any additional structural damage.

Nearly three dozen members from all five companies turned out and operated for nearly three hours, according to fire officials. The vehicle was removed by A&P Towing and the building was turned over to the Village of Croton Building Department and Half Moon Bay Property Management.

The driver was able to escape the vehicle and was taken by EMS to an area hospital for evaluation, fire officials said.
