Ossining Businesses Start A 'Refreshing' Business Networking Program
"We're excited for these events as a way to keep building relationships," said the owner of Ossining Riverworks.
OSSINING, NY — Several Ossining businesses have announced a series of meet-ups for some autumnal biz-to-biz networking.
They've dubbed it Brick & Mortar Buzz: how Ossining businesses connect.
"The business landscape for small towns like Ossining has adapted to big changes like the internet, and more recently the pandemic," Victoria Gearity, Director of Events & Communications for Sing Sing Kill Brewery — and former village mayor — told Patch. "Building a strong network among fellow business owners is critical for us all to thrive. We are excited for this series to help us connect with more brick-and-mortar businesses in our community.""

The fall calendar includes seven events over seven weeks. There is a mix of days and times to accommodate a variety of schedules. The host businesses are located both uptown and downtown, and include everything from a restaurant and a brewery to dance, theater and music schools and a coworking community. Some of the participating businesses have been operating for decades, and one for just a matter of months.
"Networking at meet-ups like this offers a refreshing boost from the daily grind of running a small business which can be consuming," Jessica Irons, Owner of Theater O explained. "I am excited to reach out and invite other local Ossining businesses to join us at the Brick & Mortar Buzz events."

Nick Logrea, owner of Logrea Dance Academy, is also involved.
"Regardless of what type of business you own, many of the experiences are universal," he said. "I’m looking forward to this series as an opportunity to strengthen connections so we can establish coordinated support across all businesses in the greater Ossining area."
The Brick & Mortar Buzz events begin the last week of September and continue through early November. Light refreshments will be served as attendees network with fellow local entrepreneurs to strengthen connections and build a stronger local business community.
Greg Young, Owner of Ossining Riverworks, a coworking community that opened earlier this year in a refurbished historic home on State Street said, "We’re excited for these events as a way to keep building relationships. A strong collaboration with fellow local businesses is critical for our success and it benefits the whole community."
