On Monday, November 10, Ossining High School will welcome local veterans for its annual “Invite a Veteran to School Day.”

This year’s theme is titled “Then and Now,” and invites students to explore how military service and life after service have evolved over time.

At this casual, conversation-based event, veterans will be stationed throughout the library as students circulate, ask questions, and engage in small-group discussions. Veterans are encouraged to bring photos and military memorabilia to help spark dialogue and deepen understanding.

“Invite a Veteran to School Day gives our students a meaningful opportunity to learn from the people behind the history books,” said Ron Whitehead, OHS Art Teacher.

Mr. Whitehead organizes and leads the program each year, helping to foster meaningful connections between students and local veterans.
