Proposed $179M Ossining School Budget On The Ballot May 20

Also on the ballot are two candidates vying for two seats on the Board of Education.

OSSINING, NY — The 2025 budget and school board vote is May 20, and two seats are up for election on the school district board.

The proposed spending plan of $178,662,726 is $1.6 million lower than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to be increased 1.67 percent.

"The Ossining School District remains committed to providing every student with a high-quality education that prepares them for success beyond high school," district officials said. "The proposed 2025-2026 budget reflects this commitment by ensuring the necessary resources are in place to support student achievement while also being mindful of the community's financial needs."

Two school board seats are up for election.

Candidates running include: Melissa Banta (incumbent) and Christine Mangiamele (incumbent).

The Ossining Public Library is proposing a $5,071,027 budget, which is a 2.23 percent increase in the tax levy.

Three library trustee seats are up for election.

Candidates include Amanda Curley, Althema Goodson, Amanda Marsh, and Laurence O'Connell.
