School Bus, Car Crash On Route 9A

Route 2 for Claremont School was delayed.

OSSINING, NY — A collision between two cars and a school bus closed northbound Route 9A during morning rush hour Thursday.

Ossining police and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the crash south of Route 134.

There were no children on the bus, but the crash caused a delay for children on Bus Route No. 2 on the Claremont Elementary School run, district officials said in an email to the community.

The road re-opened after 10:15 a.m.

Jaleen Rodriguez, who was taking her son to St. Augustine's School, was on 9A when the crash happened. Traffic had slowed down but was still moving, she said, and then "it was standstill, both lanes blocked and cops coming from all directions."
