Winter Holiday Storm Affects Westchester AM Traffic: Reports

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The massive winter storm raging across the country is causing traffic problems as well as power outages and school closures in Westchester County.

Reports from the state transportation department via 511NY.org:

• All empty box truck, light weight vehicles banned due to high winds on Bear Mountain Bridge eastbound Rockland/Orange County to Westchester County side.
• Tree Down and Downed wires and Road Closure on NY 35 both directions at Orchard Hill Rd (Katonah) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked
• Tree Down and Downed wires and Road Closure on NY 139 both directions at Sunderland Ln (Somers) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked
• Tree Down on NY 116 eastbound at Deans Bridge Rd (Somers) alternate lanes of 1 lane blocked
• Tree Down and Road Closure on NY 116 both directions east of Oakridge Rd (North Salem) all lanes of 1 lane blocked 122 NY 116
• Tree Down and Road Closure on NY 120 both directions north of Bear Ridge Rd (Mount Pleasant) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked
• Flooding and Road Closure on US 9 both directions between Sleepy Hollow Rd (Briarcliff Manor) and Scarborough Rd all lanes of 2 lanes blocked
• Tree Down and Road Closure on NY 120 both directions north of Bear Ridge Rd (Mount Pleasant) all lanes of 2 lanes blocked
• Crash on Sprain Brook State Parkway northbound north of Tuckahoe Road; CR 59 (Yonkers) right shoulder of 3 lanes blocked MM 2.9
• Tree Down on Hutchinson River Parkway [Westchester] northbound south of Exit 6B - Cross County Parkway NB side (Pelham) right lane of 2 lanes blocked MM 6.8
• Injury crash on I-95 - New England Thruway northbound at Before Exit 15 (I-95) - New Rochelle (US 1) starting 7:41 AM
