2021 Oyster Festival Canceled Due To COVID-19: Report

According to a new report, COVID-19 has prompted organizers to cancel the Oyster Bay Festival, according to a new report.

OYSTER BAY, NY — The 2021 Oyster Festival, which typically attracts thousands of seafood lovers annually, has been canceled for the second year in a row, Newsday reports.

The Oyster Bay event was scheduled to take place on Oct. 16 and 17 in Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. It was canceled due to a rise in local COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant, according to the media outlet.

"The health and well-being of the residents of our beloved Oyster Bay-East Norwich community and the festival attendees is our primary concern," the co-hosts of the Rotary Club of Oyster Bay and the Oyster Bay Charitable Fund told Newsday.
