The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure due to the rain.

A bathing advisory at sevearl North Shore beaches has been issued on Monday due to heavy rainfall.

The Nassau County Department of Health says this advisory is for precautionary measures as stormwater runoff can impact bathing water quality by elevating bacteria levels, which may exceed the the New York State standard for bathing water quality.

The advisory will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, unless there is more heavy rainfall or if water samples reveal elevated bacterial levels.
