'Chance Is Very Compassionate And Kind': Oyster Bay Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one resident who is having an impact in Oyster Bay.

OYSTER BAY, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Meri Kassner who nominated Chance, of Oyster Bay.
How do you know the star local student?
He’s my nephew
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Chance is a very kind and compassionate person. He has won a Champion of Character award twice at his school and strives to go to school every day with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Chance loves meeting new people and making friends. He loves participating in school activities and has expressed an interest in becoming an EMT when he gets bigger like his Grandpa and his Auntie Meri. Chance sees the world differently than most people and he is destined to do great things and change the world for the better.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Chance is very compassionate and kind.
