The Mayor’s office continues to receive inquiries regarding the status of transition to a new operator at the Glen Cove Animal Shelter. We are pleased that so many residents and surrounding communities are enthusiastic about the plans for the future of the Glen Cove Animal Shelter to be operated by Cove Animal Rescue.

The City is close to finalizing the agreement which will grant the Animal Lovers League their requested extension as their attorney has advised that ALL is in the process of securing another location to take their equipment and continue their mission. This date achieves the goal of ensuring a smooth transition as the new group will now be allowed access to facility at predetermined schedule until the cutover date. This is imperative for the care and welfare of the animals.
