Kayaker With No Life Vest Rescued On Long Island Sound
Police say the man was clinging to the kayak late at night and screaming for help.
OYSTER BAY, NY — A kayaker with no life vest was rescued out of the Long Island Sound on Wednesday night.
Nassau County police aviation and marine teams were called around 11 p.m. Wednesday to an area about a half-mile from Centre Island.
Marine units found a 27-year-old man clinging to his kayak and screaming for help. Teams pulled him from the water and brought him ashore, where he received medical attention.
