1. Oyster Bay Bar Owner Pleads Not Guilty To Multiple Charges, DWI, Vehicular Assault: NCDA (patch.com) — Residents of Oyster Bay are learning more about a serious May 2025 hit-and-run, as a local bar owner has pleaded not guilty to multiple DWI and vehicular assault charges tied to a crash on South Street and East Main Street. Prosecutors say video from Teddy's Bully Bar in Oyster Bay shows him drinking before allegedly striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk, who suffered severe injuries and required days of intubation. 
2. 'Four-season' garden to open at Planting Fields Arboretum (newsday.com) — A major new four-season garden is coming to Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay this October, bringing 24,000 plants designed by famed landscape architect Piet Oudolf. The one-acre space will highlight beauty in every season, from spring blooms to winter seed heads, and officials hope it will draw more visitors to the historic park year-round.
3. Town: Tax bills in the mail (syossetadvance.com) — Oyster Bay property owners have until February 10 to pay the first half of their 2026 general tax bill without penalty, even though it was due January 1. Town tax offices in Oyster Bay and Massapequa offer extended hours, drop boxes, mail and online payment options, so residents can choose the most convenient way to pay on time.
4. Lawmakers focus on an affordable Long Island (massapequapost.com) — Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino is spotlighting how unfunded state mandates, waste costs, and regulations are driving up local taxes as Long Island leaders search for affordability solutions. At the 2025 Long Island Smart Growth Summit in nearby Woodbury, officials from both parties discussed housing, transit-oriented development, and infrastructure strategies they hope will ease the cost of living for Oyster Bay and neighboring communities.
