11-Story Apartment Building Planned In Park Slope

The development at 179 Fourth Ave. would demolish the four-story building to put a new 11-story one in its place with 23 units.


PARK SLOPE, NY — A developer plans to demolish a four-story Fourth Avenue building and put an a 11-story one with ground-floor retail space in its place, New York YIMBY first reported.

Developer Vanguard Real Estate Group filed plans with the city this week to construct the building at 179 Fourth Ave. that would have 23-units and enclosed parking with four spaces, according to the Department of Buildings.

The building would also have an 865-square-foot, ground-floor commercial space and an 18-foot back yard, according to the plans.

The new development would replace the existing four-story structure built in 1920, which has three apartments inside, according to StreetEasy.

Developer filed plans with the city in October to demolish the building, but they did not say when it would it happen or when construction of the new one was estimated to start. Vanguard did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
