Purse-Snatcher Attacks Woman On Park Slope Subway Platform: Police

Police say a woman was involved with a struggle with a would-be robber Friday morning at an Atlantic Avenue Subway platform.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A man attempted to rob a woman on a Park Slope subway platform early Friday morning, police say.

At about 8 a.m. Friday, a 58-year-old woman was standing on a Manhattan-bound 2 train platform at Atlantic Avenue, according to police, when an unidentified person approached her.

The person attempted to grab the woman's purse, police said, and a brief physical struggle ensued, ending with the woman pushed on the ground.

Police said the suspect fled in an unknown direction without the purse, and that the woman was treated for a dislocated shoulder.

Officials describe the suspect as a male, about 45-year-old, five foot eight inches tall and with black hair.
