A cement truck flipped and crashed into the center divide of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Flushing Avenue exit in Clinton Hill just before noon on Friday, according to witness footage and Notify NYC.
One person was injured in the crash and removed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.
Twitter accounts that track police scanners reported that the driver of the truck had to be removed from the cab using Jaws of Life.
The truck had been heading west when it flipped. Traffic was reportedly backed up for miles on the BQE in both directions for at least an hour after the crash.
Here’s video of the wreckage, shot by a driver heading the other direction on the BQE. (Who’s now apparently trying to charge TV news stations $1,000 for the Instagram footage.)
