Brooklyn Prius Tries to Park in Bike Lane, Hits 4 Cars: Report
Photos from the scene show the Prius squashed between cars along Park Slope's Berkeley Place.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — An elderly driver trying to park his Prius in Park Slope around noon on Tuesday ravaged two rows of cars parked on either side of the Berkeley Place bike lane, near 7th Avenue, witnesses and police told NBC4.
The 74-year-old reportedly hit at least four cars before lodging himself between the rows.
“I saw the Toyota make a turn and hit the car on the right. The man then proceeded to make his turn hitting the car on the left,” said witness Alexander Meditz, who provided photos of the debacle to NBC4.
“He continued to force his way between the two cars,” Meditz said, “and then ended up getting completely stuck between the next set of cars.”
Berkeley Place is a one-way street, running east. It’s unclear why cars were parked on both sides of the bike lane on Tuesday.
Meditz told NBC4 that an NYPD officer at the scene did little to calm the situation.
“One of the other people there stood in front of the stuck guy’s car and begged the officer to come over,” Meditz said. “The officer reluctantly came over [and] the man asked for his name and badge number for doing nothing while this man damaged four other vehicles.”
There were no reports of injuries in Tuesday’s Park Slope Prius parking incident.
