Little Boy Hit by Car Near Park Slope School
The child was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition, according to authorities.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A child was struck by a car just before 8 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Garfield Place in Park Slope, a few blocks north of the Middle School 51 campus, according to officials with the NYPD's 78th Precinct and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).Â
An FDNY spokesman said the child, whose age wasn't released, was transported to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

As of noon, the NYPD's press office did not have a report on the incident, according to a spokesman — likely because the child's injuries were minor.Â

A review of the city's Vision Zero database showed that through the end of February, 13 pedestrians and three bikers had been injured within about 10 blocks of Thursday's accident.Â
Additionally, on Feb. 28, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 9th Street.Â
