G And F Trains To Start Skipping BK Stations Nights And Weekends
Repairs on the two subway lines will mean change in service starting Monday night through Dec. 23, the MTA announced.

BROOKLYN, NY — Getting around Brooklyn is about to get more difficult for straphangers using the G and F train the next few weeks.
The two train lines are scheduled to skip certain stations each weeknight, and several weekends, starting Monday to allow the MTA to make repairs on the subway's signaling system, transit officials announced. The service changes will last until late December.
The repairs include replacing track switches south of Bergen Street and Kings Highway stations and a larger project aimed at improving reliability on the F train between Church Avenue and West 8th Street in Coney Island.

Under the project, there is already no F train service south of Church Avenue from November until next year.
With the most recent repairs, both the G and F trains will skip Bergen Street, Carroll Street and Smith-9th Street stations between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weeknights and throughout three weekends in December, according to the MTA. To reach those stations, straphangers will need to take a shuttle from Jay Street or Fourth Avenue.

The G train will skip even more stations during those times — they are slated to stop running altogether between Hoyt-Schermerhorn street station and Church Avenue.
The repairs will mean a few changes during the daytime on the F train as well. The train will stop running express, as it usually does during rush hour, between Dec. 6 and Dec. 17, officials said.
The service changes will wrap up by early Christmas Eve morning.
Here's a look at all of the changes:
Weekdays – Two Weeks, Dec. 6 to Dec. 17
- No F train rush hour Brooklyn express service. All trains will make local stops between 4th Av and Church Av.
- Some rush hour F trains will skip Bergen St, Carroll St, and Smith-9th streets. If you are going to one of these stations, transfer at Jay St or 4th Av for the following train.
- G train service will operate normally.

- No F and G subway service at Bergen St, Carroll St, and Smith-9th streets in both directions. A free shuttle bus will connect these stations with Jay St and 4th Av where F trains are available.
- All F trains will skip Bergen St, Carroll St, and Smith-9th streets in both directions.
- G trains will not run between Hoyt-Schermerhorn streets and Church Av.
