Good Morning Park Slope, It's Going to be a Hot One

Get ready for a week for news, events and breaking news coverage.

Welcome back to reality. After a long holiday weekend, we're sure that going back to work is the last thing you want to do, but, don't worry for we will make this short week interesting with great stories about Park Slope.

First, the weather: Today it is going to be hot and muggy. According to Weather Underground, there will be a high of 88 degrees, with a heat index of 93 degrees. It will be partly cloudy and there is a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms starting in the afternoon. It's only 75 degrees now, so enjoy while it lasts.

This week we are going to have some exciting stories. Later today we are going to run an article about a Park Slope native who joined the Army to fight in Iraq after the September 11th attacks. But, when he came home he had trouble adjusting as a civilian. He couldn't hold a job, was left homeless and his wife separated from him.

Later this week we will tell you about a new restaurant that will replace a great Fifth Avenue spot that served the freshest fish but closes recently. We can’t give you any more details now, but stay tuned.

We will have our police blotter on Wednesday and will let you know about bars and restaurants that are applying for liquor licenses at CB6's liquor license and permits .
