Grand Army Plaza Food Cart Worker Punched, Robbed: NYPD

The vendor was robbed after denying the suspect's demand for free food, police said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A Grand Army Plaza food cart vendor was punched and robbed after refusing to give a man free food, police said.

The man made his demand from a vendor on Flatbush Avenue and Plaza Street West, a frequent location for food and fruit stands, last Wednesday about 7:30 a.m., police said

When refused, the man punched the vendor multiple times in the face, police said.

The man then grabbed a tip jar and smashed a window on the vendor’s cart before running north on Flatbush Avenue, police said.

The victim only suffered a minor injury to his forehead and had refused medical attention, police said.

Police released images of the man, described as standing about six feet tall, late Tuesday night.
