‘Iron Chef’ Finalist’s Korean Restaurant Quietly Closes In Park Slope
The sudden disappearance of the restaurant's website recently sparked speculation among customers that it was closing.
PARK SLOPE, NY — A popular Korean restaurant helmed by "Iron Chef" finalist Esther Choi has quietly closed its Park Slope location after just a few years in business.
Gahm by Mokbar, located at 212 Flatbush Avenue near Bergen Street and across from Barclays Center, opened in 2023, offering a stylish menu of Korean noodles, dumplings, and small plates to the neighborhood.
Speculation about the closure began when the restaurant’s website was taken down. Although its social media pages remain online, they haven’t been updated since July — and the business is now listed as permanently closed on Google.

After three years of success with Mokbar in Chelsea Market, Choi opened Gahm by Mokbar to expand beyond the classic menu of soup, ramen, and small plates—bringing a higher level of Korean soul food to Brooklyn.
