Man In 'Rude' Shirt Attacks Straphanger In Park Slope-Area Train: NYPD

An attacker bludgeoned and punched a 19-year-old straphanger inside an F train heading into Bergen Street station, cops said.

BOERUM HILL, BROOKLYN — A man wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word "Rude" lived up to his clothing when he bludgeoned and punched a straphanger inside a subway train rolling into a Park Slope-area station, police said.

The attacker in the May 10 subway train assault has yet to be identified, authorities said.

The violent run-in unfolded as a 19-year-old man rode an F train about 5:50 p.m., cops said.

As the train neared the Bergen Street station near Smith Street in Boerum, another man walked up to him and bludgeoned him with a blunt object, authorities said. The attacker then punched the teen in the face, police said.

The attacker ran off along the south Bergen Street subway platform before police and medics arrived, authorities said. The teen suffered a cut to his face and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Police released photos of a man they said is the attacker. He can be seen wearing a shirt with the word "Rude" on it.
