The incident highlights a troubling trend of disruptions at WNBA games, officials said. In just the past week and a half, sex toys have been thrown onto the court during games in Atlanta on July 29, Chicago on August 1 and again on August 8, and Los Angeles on August 5.
Following the August 1 incident in Chicago, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham wrote on X, “stop throwing dildos on the court … you’re going to hurt one of us.”
In a previous statement, the WNBA said that any spectators who throw objects onto the court will face a minimum one-year ban and possible prosecution by law enforcement.
