New Park Slope Kids Gym Celebrating Grand Opening With Days Of Free Activities

My Gym is now open on Fifth Avenue.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A new kids gym in Park Slope will celebrate its grand opening later this month with two days of free activities for kids.

My Gym, an international chain of children's fitness centers, is currently in "soft opening" mode at the new location in Park Slope, on Fifth Avenue between Sixth and Fifth streets.

On September 9 and 10, the gym will host free puppet shows, games, relays and more, a press release sent to Patch says.

"I’m very excited to bring all of our great programs and the message of health and fitness to families in the Brooklyn area," Park Slope My Gym owner Evan Wacht said in a press release. "We look forward to meeting everyone at our Grand Opening and to putting smiles on the faces of our members."

The two-story, 3,600-square-foot gym includes a climbing wall, zipline, ball pit and swing support system that can hold over 300 pounds.

The gym will have classes for kids ages six weeks through 10 years. While gymnastics-based, the facility offers dancing, singing, puppet shows and more.

Wacht told Patch earlier this year that he chose Park Slope for its family feel.

"We found that the foot traffic and demographics is all family-based, so it would be perfect," he said.
