Oil Spill in Park Slope Triggers Heavy Fire, Hazmat Response
The fire department and utility crews were working to clean up the spill near 7th Avenue and 14th Street.
PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — An oil spill on Seventh Avenue triggered a heavy fire department response at about 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to an FDNY official, there was a liquid oil spill outside a laundromat at 425 Seventh Avenue. Crews from both the FDNY hazmat unit and utility companies were on the scene much of the morning.
A fire official said he did not believe anyone was in any immediate harm.

Crews had left the area by 10:45 a.m., according to a business owner nearby.
