Locals Want Gentlemen Club's Billboard Stripped

Brooklynites have taken to the Internet to air their feelings on a new strip club billboard in Park Slope.

A billboard for a strip club in Park Slope has angered some residents and local business owners, the New York Post reported Sunday.

The “Peyton’s Playpen” advertisement, which hangs on the side of a building on Fourth Avenue and President Street, shows a blonde woman alongside the gentlemen’s club’s address, phone number and the words “Dancers Wanted!”

The owner of the organic grocery Ivy Garden complained to Lamar, a billboard company, that the sign was “not a good match” for the side of his store.

“It’s his store, and it affects the image of the store,” a worker said.

“Obviously, this is inappropriate for our neighborhood, is there anything that can be done?” one woman commented on the real estate blog Brownstoner. “As far as I’m concerned, it is better that it is a woman’s face, instead of a suggestive photo of a woman’s body, but it is still not right for Park Slope!”

Another woman with the username “dandelion” expressed her concerns on the blog.

“Well, I don’t like it and agree it’s inappropriate for that location. I sure wouldn’t want it right outside my building,” she said.

Others have said they don’t see what the problem is.

“Who cares? Only adults will understand what this is about, otherwise, it is a photo of a beautiful woman – could be a lot worse,” one commenter said.

“Is there [anything] that can be done? YES, don’t look at it!” another echoed.

No word yet on whether the billboard’s future is in danger.
