Police Blotter: Man Slashed on Second Avenue and Three Cars Boosted

Second Avenue Slashing

Police arrested a 26-year-old for slashing a man on the corner of Second Avenue on Sept. 23.

The 37-year-old victim told police that the violent crook attacked him with a blade at around 4 a.m. while standing on the southeast corner of Second Avenue and 13th Street. The slasher cut the victim on his arms, torso and back. Cops arrested the knife-wielding crook soon after the attack. 

First Car Boost

A car thief swiped a car from its parking spot on President Street sometime between Sept. 17 and 21.

The 71-year-old victim told police that she parked her Gray Nissan between Third and Fourth avenues to have it repaired at around 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 17. When she returned on Sept. 21 at around 9:30 a.m. her sedan was gone. Police checked the tow log and the woman said that she did not have any outstanding tickets. 

Second Car Boost

 A crook boosted a car from its parking space on Sixth Avenue on Sept. 21.

The 65-year-old victim told police that she parked her black Hyundai between Lincoln and Berkeley places in front of P.S. 282 at around 12:30 a.m. But when she returned the same day at 8 p.m., her ride was gone. 

Third Car Stolen 

Another car was boosted from its parking spot on Second Avenue on Sept. 22.

The 29-year-old victim told police that he parked his red Ford between Eighth and Ninth streets on Sept. 22 at around 3 a.m. He made sure to lock all the doors, he said. When he returned at around 12 p.m. the same day, his car was gone. There was no broken glass, police said it was not towed and he had no outstanding tickets.
