Sandy Hook Massacre Denier Confronts Victim's Family at Charity Event: Police
Matthew Mills, of Brooklyn, approached Vicki Soto's younger sister and began harassing her with Sandy Hook conspiracy theories, police say.

A conspiracy theorist with a history of arrests was arrested in Stratford, Conn., after he allegedly harassed family members at the Vicki Soto 5k Race, according to police.
Brooklyn resident Matthew Mills, 30, was arrested Saturday after he approached Vicki Soto’s younger sister Jillian and shoved a photograph in her face, according to the Connecticut Post. He claimed the Sandy Hook shooting never happened and Vicki Soto never existed, police said.

Soto was one 26 people killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December 2012. Six educators and 20 children died during the massacre. Soto has been credited with protecting her students during the incident.
Mills attempted to run away as officers approached, but he was quickly apprehended, according to Stratford Police.

Mills was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with police.
He was previously arrested for sneaking into the MetLife Stadium media tent and interrupting a live press conference with talk about 9/11 conspiracies.
The race is held annually to raise money for the Vicki Soto Memorial Fund. Soto died during the December 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting. She was hailed as a hero who died while protecting her students.
Members of the Soto family have had to deal with harassment from conspiracy theorists before.
The family applied to trademark Victoria Soto’s name in an effort to curb fake social media accounts that promote conspiracy theories.
