Stop Loudly Praising Your Kids, Park Slope Neighbor Tells Mom: Reports
A letter a Park Slope mom received from a neighbor — complaining of loud parental encouragement outdoors — has been making the rounds.

PARK SLOPE, NY — A mom’s boisterous praise to her two young kids has become a point of contention to her neighbor, who took the time to write a letter and sound off with a list of complaints and suggestions, according to a New York Post report.
The letter writer, who purports to be an editor and a writer, reportedly told neighbors to keep it quiet in their backyards.
“Parents, please lower your voices when you are playing outside with your children," the letter, published by the Post, states. "Refrain from whoops and shouts of encouragement.”

The letter's recipient shared the note to Park Slope Moms, a private Facebook group, and asked other parents in the group what they thought, according to the Post.
“F--- them," one neighbor reportedly (and succinctly) replied. "Continue whooping.”

Another parent with a child implied there is no magic spell for quiet, the report said.
“He’s a toddler and he cries a lot," they said. "Sorry not sorry."
The letter-writer admitted in the missive that urban noise is inevitable, but argued Park Slopers are entitled to quiet, and the mom in question should silence her daughters' screams and shouts.
"Be more mindful of the needs and wishes of your neighbors," the letter states. "You have compromised my work and enjoyment on a daily basis."
The mom who received the letter was less than thrilled with the request, the Daily Mail reports.
"They're telling me to stop loudly praising [my kids]," the mom reportedly said. "Which kind of was the boost I needed today."
