THE DISH: Baked Better’s Park Slope Staple Bread with Walnuts and Cranberries
The Brooklyn-based bread mix company makes baking super easy and delicious.

The best thing we ate this week was whole wheat bread with cranberries and walnuts, made with Baked Better’s bread mix, which we bought at , called the Park Slope Staple.
The organic bread mix company Baked Better, founded by DUMBO residents Daniel Schellenberg and Nushin Kormi in August 2011, was created out of the need for better and healthier bread that is easy to make.
It’s all organic, vegan and you really don’t need to be a baker to create a great loaf: just add water, unless, of course, you want to add cheese, nuts, chocolate chips or even beer.

We kept it simple, and the result was a delicious thick loaf packed with nuts and fruit. It was sweet, but not too sweet, and was great for a Sunday breakfast.
All we had to do was butter the bread pan, crush the walnuts, and mix it in with the bread mix with water, a tablespoon of sugar and salt and then cook it for 50 minutes at 400 degrees.
