1 Dead, 3 Hurt in Suffolk Crash

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY – A 62-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured in a two-car crash in East Patchogue Saturday evening.

According to Suffolk Police, 51-year-old Tervell Turner was stopped on South Country Road facing westbound at the intersection of North Dunton Avenue when his 2012 Infinity Q56 was rear-ended by a 2007 Hyundai Elantra traveling westbound at about 6:45 p.m.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 62-year-old East Patchogue man, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Turner, of Mastic Beach, and two adult female passengers were also taken to Long Island Community Hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
