1 Injured As Vehicle Flips Over, Lands In Bellport Parking Lot: Police
A passenger was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment, Suffolk police say.
BELLPORT, NY — One person was taken to the hospital after a car flipped over and ended up in a parking lot on Station Road in Bellport late Monday, Suffolk police said Friday.
The vehicle was headed northbound on Station Road when the driver lost control, and the vehicle crossed over into the southbound lane, striking a light pole and then overturning, according to Suffolk police.
The vehicle ended up in a parking lot servicing South Country Library and the post office, police said.

Property at several addresses, as well as the light pole were damaged, according to police.
Police issued tickets for reckless driving and failing to maintain a lane to the 20-year-old driver from Bellport, a spokeswoman said.

One of two passengers in the vehicle was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.
The crash happened at around 11:30 p.m., police said.
