2 Caught Selling Vapes To Underage People In Patchogue Area: Police

It happened at two businesses during compliance checks on Friday, Suffolk police say.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Two people were charged on Friday in connection with selling flavored vape to underage people during compliance checks at businesses in the 5th Precinct, Suffolk police said.

In response to numerous community complaints, Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of vape products to underage people during which four businesses were checked for compliance with the law, according to police.

Two of those businesses were found selling flavored vape products to an underage person, police said.

Two people were charged with third-degree selling tobacco to someone less than 21 years old, a misdemeanor, including a 64-year-old from Medford at Shell Gas Station in East Patchogue, and a 64-year-old from Mastic at High Times Vapes in Patchogue, according to police.

The pair were both issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 6.
