Around 200 Crashes Logged In Across Suffolk On Sunday: Police

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Around 200 motor vehicle crashes were logged by Suffolk police officers on Sunday, a spokesperson said on Monday morning.

The calls happened between midnight and 2:30 p.m.

Some areas of Suffolk saw up to eight inches of snow once the storm settled down on Sunday afternoon.

Much of the snow was expected to turn to ice due to expected freezing temperatures.

Some villages, like Patchogue, instituted states of emergency to keep the roads clear of cars so the snow could be plowed.
