3 Arrested In Sobriety Checkpoint In Patchogue: Suffolk Police

It was part of a Thanksgiving holiday cracking down on alcohol and drug-impaired driving, Suffolk police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Three people were arrested in an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue Wednesday into Thursday, Suffolk police said.

Officers from the department’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team conducted a sobriety checkpoint operation at Waverly Plaza on Sunrise Highway North Service Road from 11 p.m. to until 2 a.m., as part of a Thanksgiving holiday enforcement crackdown targeting alcohol and drug-impaired driving.

Three hundred and seventy-seven vehicles went through the checkpoint, and the following people were charged with driving while intoxicated:

• A 39-year-old woman from Bay Shore.
• A 37-year-old from Deer Park.
• A 23-year-old from Brentwood.

The arrestees were scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
