RIVERSIDE, NY — A Bellport man was indicted for operating as a major trafficker, and other related charges, after law enforcement uncovered 33 pounds of illegal narcotics, Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney said Friday.

On Sept. 25, the county sheriff’s office and police assigned to the DA’s Fentanyl Task Force, executed a search warrant at the Sunburst Lane home of Remon Gibson, 43, and found around seven kilograms of fentanyl, over eight kilograms of cocaine in brick form, and about half a kilogram of xylazine, and various types of drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.

Authorities seized around $80,000 in cash, a drug ledger, and kilo presses, including one with plates used for bricks of fentanyl and cocaine, stamped “COVID-19,” according to prosecutors.

hidden in a trap behind a backyard shed.
