7 Arrested At Sobriety Checkpoint: Police
The checkpoint was part of ongoing summer enforcement operations targeting impaired driving due to alcohol and/or drugs.
Seven people were arrested during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue, Suffolk Police said.
Officers from the Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team (SAFE-T) conducted the checkpoint on the eastbound Sunrise Highway service road at Route 112 in from 11:30 p.m. Friday until to 2:35 a.m. Saturday. The checkpoint was part of ongoing summer enforcement operations targeting impaired driving due to alcohol and/or drugs, police said. A total of 431 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

- Maureen Novak, 61, of Naples, Florida
- James McPeak, 63, of Mattituck
- Stephen Termini, 28, of Mastic
- Daniel Acevedo, 27, of Shirley
