This is the first year the event will have a Pride theme, which drew criticism and an anti-LGBTQ email threatening "trouble."

In April, an anonymous email saying "there will be trouble for sure" if the festival is allowed to happen this summer was sent to festival organizers and LGBTQ community members.

The letter mentioned David Kilmnick of the LGBT Network of New York, and said "that 'Pride' parades have appeared in other towns is scary enough."

"We are out there fiercer than ever before," Kilmnick said in a tweet. "And to the writer, if you think my 'kingdom' is spreading too far, you ain't seen nothing yet!"
