Bicyclist Struck By Pickup, Seriously Hurt On Long Island: Police
The 73-year-old man was taken with serious injuries to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, Suffolk police say.
EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A bicyclist was seriously hurt when struck by a pickup truck in East Patchogue on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.
A man was driving a 2013 Ford pickup truck westbound on Montauk Highway at County Road 101 when it struck a bicyclist in the roadway at around 5:14 p.m., police said, adding that the bicyclist, a 73-year-old from Bellport, was taken with serious injuries to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue.
The pickup's driver, a 68-year-old man from East Patchogue, was not injured, police said.

The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
