'Dirty Dancing In Concert' To Come To Long Island
A band will perform music from the soundtrack while the timeless romance starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze plays in the background.
PATCHOGUE, NY — If you are looking to have the time of your life,"Dirty Dancing In Concert" will kick off March 18 at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.
It's the classic 80s hit film’s first live film-to-concert experience -- digitally-remastered like never before on a full-size cinema screen, with a live band and singers performing iconic songs from the legendary soundtrack.
The 1987 film tells the story of Frances "Baby" Houseman and her summer romance with bad boy dance instructor, Johnny Castle, at a Catskills resort. It starred Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.

Its soundtrack contained many memorable songs such as "Hungry Eyes," "She's Like The Wind," "Do You Love Me," and its most famous one, "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."
The concert promises to bring "a thrilling new and unique experience" to theatre-goers, theatre officials said.

After the film, the band and singers will throw an encore party.
It will "surely take you back to the time of your life" as you sing and dance along to your favorite songs from the movie, according to theatre officials.
"Immerse yourself in the timeless romance and experience one of the most memorable movies of the past 35 years - now live," theatre officials said.
Tickets run $50 to $80.
