Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie Trial Witness List Updated
The list includes the two sets of parents and their attorneys, as well as family friends, investigators, and members of the media.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — An updated witness list has been filed in Sarasota County Circuit Court for the civil lawsuit brought by the parents of Gabby Petito against her fiancé, Brian Laundrie's parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie.

Petito went missing while on a cross-country trip with Laundrie in Wyoming back in August 2021, and Laundrie returned to his parents' home in Florida in her van.

Petito's remains were found a month later near Grand Teton National Park.
Laundrie admitted to strangling Petito, calling it an act of mercy after she fell into a ravine in a confession note he left behind before shooting himself to death in a Florida swamp.

Petito’s parents are suing Laundrie’s parents and their family attorney, Steven Bertolino, for intentional infliction of emotional distress, claiming the three knew Petito was dead and where her body was during a national search for her.

Last week, an attorney for Bertolino filed a motion asking that a judge block his testimony, citing attorney-client privilege.
"The plaintiff’s motion is unsupported by the law and the facts of the case," Bertolino told Patch Friday night. "My response to their motion sufficiently points out the defects of their position."
